What was your main area of research?

During my PhD, I studied the intracellular signaling of the Semaphorins family of guidance cues that regulates neuronal growth during development.



What is your current job?

I am a Scientist at Novo Nordisk in Boston, MA.


I lead preclinical pharmacology projects focused on oligonucleotide therapeutics in Diabetes and Obesity.


My favorite part is the new drug target projects, team work, and abundant resources.

Why did you decide to not pursue a career in academia? 

This was an easy decision for me. I’ve always wanted to apply science in the drug development context.



What advice do you have for someone getting their PhD and looking to pursue a career outside of academia?

  1. Reach out to people who took the same career track to learn more

  2. Learn how to build an industry resume and application package, especially the job talk

  3. Build an online presence on LinkedIn
